Mercedes-Benz GLE (W167) GLS (X167) 2016-2023 A7899821623 High Voltage Battery Contactor used

Description

There are three contactors in this battery type:
- Positive Contactor (part number: A7899821623)
- Negative Contactor (part number: A7899821623)
- Pre-charge contactor

The former two are identical, but the third is not and not available. Testing is done in the same way - using a 12V signal and checking if contactor can switch on and off. If it does not, it is broken.

In some cases, the BMC has a fault code about contactors, but contactors are working - you need to fix file in this case. Replace only if you test yourself the issue exists (in the case of positive and negative, you can swap them to test).

The normally related fault to such faulty parts are:
Positive Contactor is stuck open or closed;
Negative Contactor is stuck open or closed;
Pre-charge contactor is stuck open or closed

Common faults related to software issues (can resolve via file):
Low charge (and battery won't charge);
Frequency counter "Switching cycles of contactors" has reached its final value
Crash fault

Common faults related to hardware issues (requires to replace the BMC):
No communication
Internal error
Battery cell values unreadable via live data
Battery temperature sensor data unreadable via live data

Other hardware issues (no need to replace BMC):
P0AA200 high voltage battery contactor A positive terminal is stuck in open position
P0ABB00 the voltage sensor A of high voltage battery module has a function fault
P0ABC00 the voltage sensor A of high voltage battery module has a short circuit to ground
P0B1600 the voltage sensor B of high voltage batery module has a short circuit to ground
