The ST 95040 is an EEPROM used on many modules in the automotive field.
ECUs, Airbags, Radios and many others use this chip to store sensitive data. After long time, or damage, they may no longer be able to work properly - either cannot rewrite, or cannot even read at all. In these cases, if you have a backup of the data, you can put a new chip with the backup data to solve any issue. If you do not have data, this will not solve your problem in most cases.

Chip cannot be refunded once it has been soldered.

Chip is brand new, not refurbished/repaired/repacked.
