Ferrari owners have been missing out on carplay/HiCar functions for around ten years.
My Supercar Expert developed the first solution on the market ('October 2023) to activate carplay on 458, 488 and F12Berlinetta: FRI Carplay.
F8 and 812 are also available (April 2024 update).
Portofino and GTC4Lusso are available as well (May 2024 update).
California T and Roma are also available (October 2024 update).
SF90 has been available since February 2025.

Installation is not too complex and takes just 3-4 hours (with exception of California T).
You need to connect the module to the head unit and to the cluster.

The kit includes a electronic box which adds the carplay function and wiring that can be directly connected to your car's head unit and instrument cluster.

Note: you will connect by bluetooth to the car original head unit for audio input/output to avoid connecting an aftermarket microphone. 458 doesn't have bluetooth input so we have a wired solution to solve that.
Important: at the moment our product does not support multi-touch gestures. Apple Carplay does not support these natively, so a fix would be only for Huawei/Android systems!

Video streaming will not be possible for security reasons.

For Ferrari California (F149) and older Ferrari models, this solution is not viable. It may be possible however to install an aftermarket head unit which supports carplay.

Kit composition depends on car model because of the connector used on the head unit and cluster.
With your package you will receive:

  • 1 FRI Carplay Module
  • 2 antenna for Wi-Fi and bluetooth (interchangeable)
  • 1 USB cabling (recognizable by the USB 2.0 female port)
  • 1 Power cable (changes based on car model, need to connect to head unit)
  • 1 Video cable (changes based on car model, may go to head unit or to cluster. On GTC4Lusso, Portofino and SF90 they are 2 and both connect to the head unit)
  • 1 Protocol Box (only present on 458, GTC4Lusso, Portofino, SF90)
  • 1 PCB to install on the original head unit (only for California T)
