Aftermarket Repair Kit: friction plate for the inverter motor mounted on hybrid Bentley Bentayga Porsche Cayenne (9Y) Panamera (971) 2018-2024.
The kit is used to solve fault codes such as:
P2D8D00 clutch disengagement actuator: clutch opening causing insufficient slipping
This issue appears often around 100000 km of life of the inverter, and is solved by replacing the parts included in the kit. Check the video for more info:
After the repair, remember to do the basic setting to clear out error code P080A00 - Hybrid disengagement clutch - no basic setting. During this process, ensure:
1. HV battery is charged to over 20%, or charger is connected;
2. Clutch temperature is under 100 C°;
3. Coolant temperature is over 65 C° and engine has been running for 5-10 minutes;
4. Ambient temperature is over 10 C°
Use your diagnostic to enter live data to confirm all sensors readings are OK if the basic setting procedure fails.
After basic setting, hybrid mode will work again.
Important: when replacing plates, make sure they are set properly, with a total thickness of the friction pads install equal or above 5 mm. Ask a professional with the proper equipment to do it, as the better this step is done, the less likely the plate will fail in future, and the longer overall the repair will last.
We strongly recommend to measure your own friction plates before purchase, so you can match the size with ours. We use 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 mm friction plates, but other sizes may be present in certain cases. If the plate is not the correct size, your repair may not last! If you are not sure, we'd recommend going with the 3.5 mm option as it's more commonly used in our experience, especially on Cayenne.
