Aftermarket Kit McLaren MDS diagnostic tool 6517 Interface

This is an aftermarket version of MDS.
MDS is the original McLaren diagnostic device. The 6517 VCI is provided alongside a laptop with the original software (v18.0.0.056) already installed in. Any attempt update may damage the software and laptop will have to be sent back to us, so please pay attention to not allow the software to update at any time!

The laptop is a Panasonic CF-D series, sturdy and famous for its reliability in the field.

Besides diagnostics, you can use MDS also to update software, coding units, programming and adapting new parts to the vehicle.
It is a required device for anybody who wants to be considered a McLaren expert.

Note: technical documentation is available via McLaren online portal, the account needed to use MDS is a different one.

Product may require few days to be prepared. When ordering please specify if you need specific languages to be installed in the laptop, else English will be used.

DIFFERENCES WITH THE ORIGINAL MDS KIT: My Supercar Expert has reviewed both the kits, and has found 95% of the functionalities of the original MDS system are working on this one. However we recommend to avoid flashing modules, as it is the most delicate function and while some modules will work without issue, this is no guarantee than there will never be issues. No problems with other functions.
The VCI won't work on a laptop where original MDS software is installed - as drivers are not compatible.
